I leave a trace... to find myself

Today I return to this mysterious place , which has become my secret garden. It never ceases to fascinate me. The smells, the sounds, the billions of micro-species that struggle every day to survive.
And of course, there are my favorites, mushrooms ; the silent architects of decay. They dance slowly between the forces of life and death, unchanged for 500 million years. What do they tell us?

On this blog: my discoveries, ideas, doubts, trivialities,
references from other researchers.

Eureka!

I was walking on the same little path in the forest near our house.
Everything seemed perfect, until I realized, to my great amazement, that I had lost my way . And yet, I knew this path by heart… but suddenly, no more landmarks. After a good hour of disbelief, I tried to orient myself using the position of the sun… only to realize that it was about to set. After a few stumbles, I see a faint glow out of the corner of my eye. I approach.
A strange bubble that looks like a large mushroom is attached to the trunk of a tree. Upon closer inspection... it is not a mushroom, but a structure with functional spaces.
A specimen I had never seen in my life! With the shape of a residence, with openings, access ramps...

Clearly evidence of intelligent intervention!

Bio-architecture

Back in the lab, I analyze a small sample: the structure is "made" of fibrous membrane " mycelium " that forms the mushrooms but also of a biomaterial based on lignocellulosic materials generated by the tree. I conclude that a very advanced species is capable of influencing the design and growth of plants. How?

A Bright Garden

I'm going back in the evening this time.
There are probably more activities.
Nestled in one of the trees, I see small lights scattered around, lined up as if they had been carefully planted. I approach and pick a tiny bioluminescent mushroom...
same shade of light as in small homes.
This garden also shelters moss and lichen, a happy mix of algae, mushrooms, as well as some vegetable roots. In summer, they probably practice circular agriculture, where the waste of one species feeds another. There must be other forms of cultivation: underground greenhouses, hanging from trees or even installed in the marshes…
